Passport & Darkon Timeline

When do you get your Israeli travel documents? Enter your aliyah date for a personal timeline — from travel document to full darkon.

Your details

The darkon milestones assume you spend most of the year in Israel (about 60% of the first year for the 5-year passport). Less time in the country means a teudat maavar instead.

Your document timeline
from your aliyah date

Indicative timeline based on the rules updated 22 January 2025. First 3 months: travel on your foreign passport (an exit permit / Ishur Yetziya applies from 1 October 2026). From 90 days: eligible for a Teudat Maavar. No darkon in the first year. After 1 year with ~60% presence: a 5-year darkon; after 5 years with 36 of the last 60 months in Israel: a 10-year darkon. Confirm current rules with the Population & Immigration Authority.
