FOUR CITIES, ONE DESTINATION
Whether you're closing a brownstone in Park Slope or a hilltop home in Bel Air, the practical map differs. We work with families across the United States and know the quiet particulars of departing from each.
— 01 NEW YORK From the tri-state to the Holy Land.
The largest American oleh community by far. From the Five Towns and Riverdale to Teaneck and Englewood, we coordinate with your shul, school, and CPA — and translate American certifications (NYS apostilles, divorce decrees, professional licenses) into documents Misrad HaPnim will accept on day one.
Direct Flights: JFK & EWR to TLV daily Common Apostille: NYS Dept. of State, Albany
— 02 LOS ANGELES From the Pacific coast to the Mediterranean.
Pico-Robertson, Beverly Hills, Hancock Park, the Valley. LA aliyah cases tend to involve more entrepreneurs, more real estate to unwind, and tighter California tax considerations. We coordinate with US-side advisors and handle the California Secretary of State apostille queue, which has its own rhythm.
Direct Flights: LAX to TLV — El Al, United Common Apostille: CA Secretary of State, Sacramento
— 03 MIAMI From South Beach sun to Mediterranean sun.
The fastest-growing American oleh corridor. Surfside, Aventura, Bal Harbour, North Miami Beach. Many Miami clients are dual-language households arriving with significant assets, real estate portfolios, and US-passport children whose Israeli passports we obtain in parallel. Florida apostille turnaround is among the fastest in the country.
Direct Flights: MIA to TLV — El Al seasonal Common Apostille: FL Dept. of State, Tallahassee
— 04 CHICAGO From the Midwest to the heart of the matter.
West Rogers Park, Skokie, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnwood. Chicago aliyah cases often involve multi-generational families and long-held Midwest property. We handle the Illinois Secretary of State apostille process, the United nonstop to Tel Aviv, and the careful sequencing of selling a Midwest home while opening an Israeli bank account.

The Process
A move this consequential deserves a method.
Aliyah is not a single decision. It is several hundred decisions, taken in the right order, at the right time. Our work is to make that order obvious.
— Phase 01: Intake & Eligibility A confidential consultation. We review your family's Jewish status documentation, citizenship status, financial picture, and the timeline you have in mind. By the end, you have a clear, written aliyah strategy.
— Phase 02: Documents & Apostille Birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, police clearances, rabbinical letters. We assemble the file, manage US apostilles, and coordinate Hebrew translations through certified notaries.
— Phase 03: Approval & Flight Nefesh B'Nefesh submission, Jewish Agency interview, and approval. We coordinate the flight, the lift shipment, the pet travel paperwork, and the first 72 hours on the ground in Israel.
— Phase 04: Klita & Settlement Teudat Zehut, bank account, kupat cholim, ulpan, school registration, driver's license conversion, oleh car benefits. The first ninety days, walked through with you — not handed to you on a checklist.

A few of the questions we hear most often
Do I need to give up my US citizenship to make aliyah? No. Israel and the United States both permit dual citizenship. You will hold both passports, continue to file US tax returns annually, and travel on whichever passport is most convenient for the journey. Many American olim live in Israel for decades with their US citizenship fully intact.
How long does the process actually take? For a straightforward American case with clean documentation, six to ten months from first call to flight is typical. Complex cases — proof-of-Judaism reconstructions, divorce records from multiple states, conversion documentation — can extend that. We give you a realistic timeline at intake, not an optimistic one.
What does aliyah actually cost? The aliyah itself is largely free — the Jewish Agency and Nefesh B'Nefesh fund the flight and provide Sal Klita absorption payments after arrival. The real costs are the lift shipment, US-side document procurement and apostille, and our professional fee. We provide a complete written estimate before you engage us, and a settled fee — no hourly billing surprises.
Can I bring my pension and retirement accounts? Yes, and you generally should not collapse them. US IRAs, 401(k)s, and pensions remain in place and continue to grow tax-deferred. Israel's 10-year tax holiday for new olim means foreign income — including pension distributions — is exempt from Israeli tax for the first decade. We coordinate with your US-side CPA to ensure nothing is moved that shouldn't be.
What about my children's education in Hebrew? Most American oleh families place children in mainstream Israeli schools with strong Anglo support communities. Younger children acquire Hebrew quickly. For teenagers, we often recommend specific schools with established programs for olim. We advise on neighborhood selection with school catchment in mind from the very first conversation.
Can you help us if we are not yet sure we want to make aliyah? Of course. A significant share of our intake conversations are exploratory — families thinking eighteen to thirty-six months ahead. We can scope a realistic plan, surface the questions you haven't thought to ask, and let you walk away with clarity even if you decide the timing isn't right.
